Have a Little Faith - Sheryl Ham

Whether you are a mum, daughter, sister or friend, whether you are old, young, a student or even if you are working - having great faith is often one of those things we all want to have, but sometimes find that doubt overtakes us.

Quite often I find that we measure our faith by how much we believe God can do something for us in our lives, but is that a correct measure?

Faith is easy when life goes the way we want it to or the way we see it going. But what about the times that life that does not go our way or where and what is the foundation for our Faith?

Faith is based on who our God is and not what we face in life.

Over the last few years, for me personally, my faith has certainly been challenged. Believing God for a miracle, even though a medical opinion says the opposite, has reminded me that my faith is not reliant on myself but on who my God is.  That the same power that raised Christ from the dead, is in me, so I have the power and authority to speak to my mountain and it will move.

Matthew 17:20 (MSG) “Because you are not yet taking God seriously,” said Jesus. “The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would move. There is nothing you would not be able to tackle.”

I have learned that I can rest in my circumstance. Even though life is not going the way I expected it to, I know that my Father in heaven, is a good God. All I need to do is trust Him, continue to speak to this mountain and not to let doubt keep me quiet.

Whatever you might be going through, you can rest. Rest knowing that God is in your circumstance, he has given you authority and power.

Be encouraged today, God’s love for you is great and you can trust Him. It only takes faith the size of a poppy seed to move mountains, let His word build your faith as you get to know Him more intimately. God will never let you down!
