5 Prayers to Pray For Others - Lisa Fielder
There are so many things happening in the world today. Sometimes these things can get a bit overwhelming and more often than not, can make us shrink back to try and protect ourselves from the effects of what’s happening around us, but God has not given us a spirit of fear! He has empowered us to stand strong in Him, not only for ourselves, but for the others around us as well. Our God, who is in us, is a big God!
I want to encourage you to look outwardly, but not just to see what is happening across the world in other countries, but to be aware of what is happening directly around you. Do you see a friend or neighbour in need? Do you see a need in the surrounding area where you live? Oftentimes we can look but we do not see. We can be in our own space, stuck in our own situations, and forget all about that person right beside us in the workplace or even at home! There are so many people seeking answers, so many people who are scared and so many people who are struggling, but while we may not be able to do anything in the physical to help, we can always use the strength of prayer!
Prayer is our weapon and throughout the Bible we can see that prayer is a very powerful tool that we can use anytime, anywhere!
There are so many different areas to pray into, so I thought I would share with you just 5 different areas to give you a place to start! You can pick just one, you can pray through them all, or even add a few of your own too. The best part is you can spend as much time as you want praying for each point!
Before we start, let me share a good tip with you: I personally ask God to remind me during my day to remind me to pray for one of these specific areas. I find that while I’m doing my daily tasks, there are times when one of these things will pop into my mind, so I stop for a moment and say a prayer over it! Sometimes it’s while I’m driving in the car, maybe walking around in the supermarket, it could be any time at any place when I hear God’s prompting to pray and so I do. It’s as easy as that!
Someone in Need
someone you know or even someone you don’t know!
Do you know someone who has a need? Do you have a friend who’s sick? Maybe one who is struggling in their finances, or someone around you who needs a job? Think of your friends, your colleagues, your university or schoolmates!
“We will show mercy to the poor and not miss an opportunity to do acts of kindness for others, for these are the true sacrifices that delight God’s heart.” Hebrews 13:16
Suburb/Region
the area around you where you live, your neighbours, your community!
Speak blessings over your street, your neighbour’s houses, the housing areas surrounding you, even the businesses and shops too! Pray for peace, for unity and community among the people living there. Rebuke neighbourhood crime and pray protection!
“So this is my command: Love each other deeply, as much as I have loved you. For the greatest love of all is a love that sacrifices all. And this great love is demonstrated when a person sacrifices his life for his friends.” John 15:12
Covid-19 Virus
for your country and the rest of the world!
How is your country affected by Covid? Pray for no new cases to emerge and for those who are sick to recover. Speak protection over the land, over the population surrounding you. Pray that a cure will be found and that peace would come over all those fearful of the virus!
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalms 91:4
Government
your local leaders, the people running your country!
Our leaders need wisdom and direction to lead! Pray that they would have divine encounters that lead to strength in your nations, even for those that are Non-Christian - they need our prayers even more!
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-3
Kingdomcity
church online, for those who are part of our congregation and those who are just tuning in!
There are so many people that are logging into our services online across the world! Countries that we don’t have Kingdomcity in or have no access to a church are watching our services, so pray that they encounter God and feel His presence in their homes. Pray for blessings over every family watching on a screen and for salvation to come to those who don’t know God!
“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”” Mark 16:15
No matter where you are and how ‘good’ you feel you are at praying, know that your words have power and you have authority through God! Your words have an impact and what you speak out in the natural have effects in the supernatural.
I pray that you would never allow the enemy to bring timidity to your prayers, but you would stand on the word of God and know that you are a warrior for Christ! God Bless you!
