Russian Teacakes - Daenielle Isaacs
Growing up, this was one of the first desserts my Mum taught me to make. We would stand in the kitchen and chat, while rolling these little teacakes. The simplicity of this recipe means that it's easy to make with your child! Then once they’re ready, these perfect little bite-sized teacakes melt and crumble in your mouth!! Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup ground walnuts (optional)
METHOD
1. Mix flour and salt in a big bowl
2. In another bowl, mix powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and ground walnuts
3. Combine both bowls and mix well
4. Roll into small balls (perfect bite sized!)
5. Arrange on cookie sheet
6. Bake at 200C for 10-12 minutes
7. Dust with powdered sugar
Serve with tea and enjoy!
