Books To Grow Your Understanding - Marina Rolt
I love to read. I can get lost in a book very easily, time ticks away while I get caught up in the wisdom on the page.
I’d like to share with you three of my most favourite books. The first one on my list is “Sparkling Gems” by Rick Renner. It was a book I found in my dad’s library after he passed away. When I was going through his library, I claimed it as my own and continue to use it for my devotions. It’s a thick volume and quite heavy but I made sure that it was included in my luggage when my husband and I moved from Australia to Cambodia over a year ago. As you can see, all three books are by this author. His books are full of wisdom and are anointed.
When the Soviet union had just collapsed, Rick and his wife Denise, with their young sons, moved to the USSR in 1991 to begin a ministry reaching people who had never heard about the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Their sons have now grown up and are married to beautiful and Godly Russian women and they continue to minister in the call of God on their lives.
SPARKLING GEMS
This book contains 365 Greek word studies. Each day you can find treasure in God's word, understanding the true meaning of the Greek words used. These devotions can bring you back to the basics in your understanding of scripture, and help you to apply God’s word in your life today.
I have gotten a far richer understanding of scripture through using this book and it has challenged me to look deeper when studying God’s word.
DREAM THIEVES | OVERCOMING OBSTACLES TO FULFIL YOUR DREAMS
Rick discusses the calling, giftings and anointing of God on your life and how you can fulfil the dream that God has planted in your heart. It’s about giving up the fears in your heart and progressively and unrelentingly pursuing whatever He has been telling you to do, regardless of the cost.
The lessons from this book have taught me to hold onto God’s call on my life. I often find myself reflecting on what God is doing through us here in Cambodia, and I marvel that God chose two people in their fifties to reach a nation with so many young people. (The genecide that occurred around 40 years ago has resulted in a younger population today). We often find ourselves the oldest people in the room, struggling with language and culture and yet God uses us despite our limitations. This book has encouraged me to hold onto the promises God has spoken into our hearts for this nation.

This book comes with full colour insert illustrations and goes into the purpose and meaning of spiritual armor in our lives.

I love that we have a God who has not left us empty handed! He has provided the authority and tools to be victorious in our lives. There is no reason whatsoever that I should be left feeling slumped over with defeat if I believe and use what God has provided for me to be an overcomer.
