Let’s take a deeper look into Esther’s life.

Esther was a Jew and an orphan. The Bible tells us that her parents died when she was very young. If we considered her background, she did not qualify to become the Queen of Persia. She wasn’t even a Persian. She had nothing that would put her in the place of royalty, but God intervened and placed her in a place of influence through her Cousin Mordecai. When she became the Queen of Persia, she was in a strategic position to bring deliverance to the Jews. They were marked for destruction, but her position brought them favour and out of a bad situation.

Just like ourselves, God has a purpose for our lives, but the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy. He wants to destroy all that God has planned for you – your destinies, your family’s destinies. It’s so important that you find yourself in the right standing with God, in the right positions that you may stand still and see the Lord’s victory in your life.

POSITIONED IN THE RIGHT STANDING

Do you know if you’re in the right standing with God?

Every day he walked back and forth near the courtyard of the harem to find out how Esther was and what was happening to her.
— Esther 2:11 (NIV)

Mordecai was not Esther’s biological father, but he took Esther in as though she was his daughter. After she moved to the King’s palace, he kept watch over her just like it says in Esther 2:11. She was guided and eventually found her destiny in the King’s palace. How does that relate to us? If you don’t have the right relationship with God or are hearing about Jesus for the first time, our heavenly Father desires to adopt you into His loving family. He wants to redeem you, give you a new sense of belonging and wants to restore you. While you may have had a past or come from a background that may not position you for royalty, God wants to turn it around and raise you up to your God-given destiny. Be positioned in the right standing with God.

POSITIONED WITH THE RIGHT PREPARATION

Are you prepared if the battle was today?

Before a young woman’s turn came to go in to King Xerxes, she had to complete twelve months of beauty treatments prescribed for the women, six months with oil of myrrh and six with perfumes and cosmetics.
— Esther 2:12 (NIV)

Imagine that! 12 months to look beautiful. Esther could have decided that she wanted a different plan for herself, but she stayed through the course of preparation. Esther prepared herself and allowed God to prepare her by listening to Mordecai’s guidance and instructions.

But what sort of preparation do we need in this life? Am I walking with God daily? Am I intentional with my time with Him? Am I in a discipleship journey where my spiritual disciplines are growing? All these are keys in being positioned with the right preparation. We want to have intimacy with God. That helps us in the battle, to be able to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. Be positioned with the right preparation.

POSITIONED WITH THE RIGHT POSTURE

What is the posture of your heart?

When the turn came for Esther (the young woman Mordecai had adopted, the daughter of his uncle Abihail) to go to the king, she asked for nothing other than what Hegai, the king’s eunuch who was in charge of the harem, suggested. And Esther won the favor of everyone who saw her.
— Esther 2:15 (NIV)

Esther had an audience with the King, but she asked for nothing and won favor with everyone who saw her. The posture of her heart was humility. She sourced the wisdom and counsel of God through Mordecai and was teachable. She trusted the people that God placed in her life and wasn’t looking for anything more than to do what was right and what was purposed by God.

Are we looking to feel valued? Are we entitled? Are we struggling with a religious spirit? Sometimes, we may find ourselves in a posture of distress, a posture of fear, a posture of dishonour towards others. These are things we can look for that will derail us from having the right posture of our hearts towards God.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
— Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)

POSITIONED IN THE RIGHT COMMUNITY

Who are the people around you?

Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.’ So Mordecai went away and carried out all of Esther’s instructions.
— Esther 4:16-17 (NIV)

Esther positioned herself in Mordecai’s community. She was not alone, and she knew that she wasn’t! She could have chosen to be, but did not, and had a community of prayer warriors with her in the bid to save the nation. With her community, there was breakthrough.

Are you going through life alone? Or have you intentionally positioned yourself with a godly community? You may have also complained about your family, but your family was God given. It was not a coincidence. The key to your breakthrough may very well be when you are positioned with the right community.

POSITIONED IN THE RIGHT ATMOSPHERE

Where do you find yourself?

Sundays may be easy for you. You come into church and there’s worship, an atmosphere of faith for the miraculous. There are so many testimonies that we have heard of people getting healed while being here in church. They’ve positioned themselves in the right atmosphere.

But what about the rest of the week? What is the atmosphere in your home? We have 24/7 prayer with Kingdomcity where you can join in any hour of prayer and join the thousands of others around the globe praying. In Ephesians, we know that we should put on the full armour of God. How can we do that? By praying, by declaring, by proclaiming, and when we do, we position ourselves in the right atmosphere.

POSITIONED IN KINGDOM CULTURE

Do you find yourself in the Kingdom of God?

It was found recorded there that Mordecai had exposed Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s officers who guarded the doorway, who had conspired to assassinate King Xerxes.
— Esther 6:2 (NIV)

In Esther’s story, we eventually learn that Mordecai was instrumental in helping save the King. He discovered plots of men who wanted to kill the king and the king may have forgotten what he did, but God did not forget. After some time, God kept the king awake and he is reminded of what Mordecai did for him.

Mordecai did not ask for this reward. He had only done what he was meant to – serve the king. He lived in a Kingdom culture, of being humble, of being trusting, of being generous with his life and God rewarded his faithfulness through the king. He was honoured throughout the land.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. “So he answered the king, ‘For the man the king delights to honor, have them bring a royal robe the king has worn and a horse the king has ridden, one with a royal crest placed on its head. Then let the robe and horse be entrusted to one of the king’s most noble princes. Let them robe the man the king delights to honor, and lead him on the horse through the city streets, proclaiming before him, ‘This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor!’ ‘Go at once,’ the king commanded Haman. ‘Get the robe and the horse and do just as you have suggested for Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king’s gate. Do not neglect anything you have recommended.’
— Esther 6:7-10 (NIV)

There are things in this world that we will never be able to accomplish alone. God calls us to position ourselves that we may stand still and see the Lord’s victory. He is with us! But it starts when we position ourselves with Him. May this Word of God bless you.
